Character Analysis- Christopher's Father
Christopher's dad is a character who has good intentions, but makes bad decisions because of those intentions. The first bad decision that is made apparent was the fact that he had good intentions about keeping Christopher's mom leave a secret, but made the bad decision in lying to Christopher that his mother was dead. This resulted in unnecessary consequences as Christopher grew upset when he learned the truth. I believe that Christopher's dad made this decision because he wanted to protect Christopher from the fact that his mother left him. Even though Christopher eventually found out, the father partly succeeded in protecting Christopher. The one thing that was clear about Chris's dad was that he loved Christopher. He learned about Christopher's autism and he made a new kind of "hug" when Christopher showed he did not want to be touched. Christopher's dad has many good intentions, he just makes bad decisions.
